Lots of lovely visitors to Whangarei have been stopping by to see
The Whangarei Community Tapestry Project over the summer holidays...
Connie Naulls (above) from Brisbane, Australia has sailed to New Zealand
with her husband. They are docked at the Town Basin Marina for the
week and Connie has come in every day to work on the tapestry.

Gwen Dore (left), from Queenstown is visiting her sister Jean Cartwright
(in pink), who lives in Kamo. Beverley, our Tapestry Master talks with
them about spinning and weaving as Jean has spun wool for many years.

Not to be outdone by his two daughters, "Dad" Rob,
originally from the Netherlands has a go at weaving.
...and Mum Rowena Baen-Mathias, weaves a few rows too.
She grew up in Whangarei and was here visiting her family.
