Queens Birthday Weekend

Weaving all the different shades requires
lots of bobbins and lots of patience!
Some more "close up" photos showing
the detail and workings of the tapestry.
Ben Lamont from Auckland is 10 years old.
He was visiting Whangarei with his Mum, Dad and sister
for the long weekend  known as "Queens Birthday"
New Zealanders celebrate the Queen's Birthday on
the first Monday of June each year, as New Zealand
is a constitutional monarchy with the Queen of the
United Kingdom being the head of state.
A group of young women some from Dargaville and
some from Whangarei called in to see the tapestry.
Thanks for stopping in and having a go at weaving ladies!
